At an early age, Monica joined singing contests in her province, mentored by Helen, who is also a singer. She and her mom perform at wakes, birthday parties, and other events .Helen and her older daughter, Davelyn, see how confident Monica is at such a young age. Monica felt this was the second chance she was waiting for. She flies to Manila, auditions, and bags the role, besting almost two hundred hopefuls for the role of Dorina in the musical adaptation of the classic movie Bituing Walang Ningning. Monica is now living the dream, the dream she shared with her late mother. Her star is now ready to shine.
